The Morgan Conservatory would not be what it is today without the support of our dedicated volunteers. From construction help to Kozo garden maintenance, year after year, our presence in the community is deeply tied to those who have dedicated their time, energy, and professional skills to help us grow.

As a multi-faceted organization, we have a wide variety of opportunities for those interested in volunteering. We are currently seeking volunteers to help us with the following activities from March through August 2025:

Help the Morgan prepare our home grown Kozo fiber ahead of our annual Eastern papermaking sessions. A meditative and social activity, our volunteers are crucial in helping us prepare fiber for production. If you participate in all three Kozo preparation days (March 7, 14, and 21 from 11am-2pm), you can receive 50% off Japanese Papermaking (March 29 & 30, 2025). SIGN UP to volunteer HERE and indicate if you wish to take Japanese papermaking in March.

Garden Care (pruning, transplanting, mowing, Kozo Harvest)

Tree, hedge, and bamboo trimming

Volunteer Hour Work Exchange:
Volunteer hours can be credited towards workshop tuition or open studio fees. 3 hours of volunteer time can be credited towards 1 hour of workshop time. 2 hours of volunteer time can be credited towards 1 hour of open studio time. Please keep in mind that your volunteer hours will expire after a year. To attend a workshop or an open studio session using your volunteer hours, please contact volunteer@morganconservatory.org.
