Writer's picture: Morgan ConservatoryMorgan Conservatory

The Morgan is pleased to welcome our two new staff members to our team. We have officially hired Celeste Stauber as our new Gallery Manager and Maria Welch as our Workshop Manager. We want to share a little more about them and the roles they will be filling. Before we do that, however, we would like to send off our former Senior Program Manager Anna Rouston. Anna will be moving on to her next adventure and continuing her journey out in Utah with family and friends. We want to thank her for all she has done for our organization during her time here. Foremost being a champion for the Morgan’s mission, artists, and our community. You will be missed by all of us here at the Morgan, Anna!

Celeste Stauber is a 2018 graduate from Baldwin Wallace University with a B.A. in Studio Art

and a minor in Arts Management. She is a mixed media artist who has shown regionally in the Cleveland area and spent 2021 as a guest curator for E11even2 Gallery located in 78th Street Studios. In 2017, Celeste was the Berea Arts Fest Event Management Intern and has been a BAF board member since 2021. When she is not painting or drawing, you can find Celeste in the Cleveland Metroparks or tending to her plant jungle at home. She will be handling our exhibition season at the Morgan, installation, and artistic vision for our gallery.

Maria Welch is an interdisciplinary artist working across the mediums of hand papermaking, book arts, and printmaking. She received her MFA in Book Arts and Printmaking from The University of the Arts and her BA from Millsaps College. Welch’s work has received recognition across a variety of platforms and she was awarded the 2020 Holle Award for

Excellence and Creativity in Book Arts from The University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences. Her work is also included in several public and

private permanent collections such as the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, University of Nevada, and Topeka and Shawnee Public Library Special Collections. Maria will be handling scheduling our workshop seasons, scouting new partnerships for classes, and working with our team to curate a vast and diverse workshop season.

Please join us in giving both Celeste and Maria a warm welcome! We look forward to watching them thrive in their roles and wait in anticipation for their new ideas for the Morgan. Stop in during our winter hours and say hello!
